Doosan Skoda Power wins steam turbine contract in the Caribbean

In May this year, Doosan Skoda Power signed a contract for delivery of a steam turbine to La Trinité on the French island of Martinique in the Caribbean. The proven and reliable turbine type MTD30CA will be delivered directly to the customer, Albioma. As part of the contract, Doosan Skoda Power will provide full erection works on the site of Martinique.

Martinique is an integral part of the French Republic and the European Union. Amongst its key projects in France, Doosan Skoda Power is currently working on a steam turbine refurbishment at the Gardanne power plant as part of a biomass conversion project. This newly signed contract at Martinique will provide more opportunities for success in this region.

Electricity generated from Martinique power plant in La Trinité will be utilized by French company EDF for the distribution grid along with delivery to the nearby sugar mill and distillery.

“Winning a contract amongst such fierce worldwide competition in an area where Doosan Skoda Power does not have much reference is a significant success as it proves that we have high quality products,” said Mr. Jiri Smondrk, CEO-Doosan
