ISO14064 Certification
In 2011 Doosan Power Systems successfully completed certification to ISO14064 - "Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals" which is essentially independent, third party approval of our company Carbon Footprint calculations and reporting. We are one of the first of companies in the UK to achieve this certification.
Measuring and reducing our Carbon Footprint allows us to report our emissions and reductions to customers and other interested parties. Our customers are increasingly asking their contractors to report on greenhouse gas emissions as part of their supply chain impact.
As well as being requested by some clients and an excellent differentiator when it comes to winning new orders, it is also expected that Greenhouse Gas reporting will become mandatory in the UK in the next few years - therefore we are being proactive here.
The boundary of our certification covers activities at our UK Facilities and UK customer sites and the scope includes electricity, natural gas, bottled gas, coal, fuel oil, red diesel, refrigerants and diesel and petrol used in business travel by car (excludes non-measurable electricity at customer sites). We aim to increase our boundary to include all global operations and widen the scope to include all business travel.
Certification to ISO14064 allows us to confidently substantiate our emissions claims and reductions. Reducing these emissions is where we can all play a part, helping to minimise the environmental impact of DPS globally.
