PRESS RELEASE ŠKODA POWER will supply turbine island for biomass power plant in Sweden 02 March 2012, Crawley, UK Škoda Power, part of Doosan Power Systems, will supply a turbine island (consisting of a 39 MW Skoda steam turbine with generator and accessories, including gearbox, regenerative air heating system and hot water heating system and also assembly and commissioning of the supplied equipment worth almost 300 million CZK) to Swedish utility Lund for a biomass plant. Lunds Energikoncern is owned by a group of 4 towns in South-western Sweden and provides electricity and heat to those towns. The power plant will be built near the village Örtöfta, 15km north of Lund. ŠKODA POWER’s customer and owner of the power plant is Lunds Energi AB. The power plant is scheduled to be operational in the first half of 2014. This is the third project in South-western Sweden. In 2006 and 2007 Škoda installed two 60 MW and 50 MW ŠKODA turbines which are now successfully in operations in the paper industry.
