You will embark on an individual training plan that will allow you to not only become familiar with the project planning process from start to finish, but will also provide you with an understanding of the software packages and tools used to support the process, and the controls and procedures in place to ensure successful execution of projects.
It consists of the following elements:
1. On-job training
2. Training courses, workshops and seminars
which are relevant to your discipline.
3. Training in additional skills,
including report writing skills, team-building, financial awareness and IT training (such as Microsoft Project and Primavera) to help you develop a business and commercial awareness.
4. The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board's Supervisory Management Training & Development Scheme.
This leads to a professional management qualification, and consists of a series of 5 residential modules shown on the diagram below.
5. Mentoring
You will also be supported by a mentor who will assist you in your path to professional Chartership status with the relevant discipline institute.
