| Ragi Panesar - Thermal Performance & Process Design |
I graduated in 1989 from the University of Paisley with a BSc First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering. On graduating I joined what was then the Babcock Energy Research Centre as an Assistant Project Engineer.
I was promoted to Project Engineer in 1991 and continued to develop further capability in boiler plant performance, combustion and emissions performance for wall fired utility boilers as part of the Company's first contract for a low NOx burner retrofit at Drax Power Station.
In 1995, I became Senior Project Engineer in the Boiler Technology Group, responsible for the technical and financial control of a number of projects.
In 2000, I was appointed Group Leader - Boiler Performance. As a project coordinator I Ied a number of major UK DTI and European funded collaborative projects, including the design of state-of-the-art carbon-abated Advanced Supercritical Coal boiler plant with CO2 capture options. This gave the opportunity to publish and present a number of papers at internationally recognised conferences as well as filing a Patent application for a CO2 capture process.
Currently, as part of Company's Operations Group - Renfrew Engineering, I am responsible for delivering boiler thermal process design including deputising for the Engineering-Process Section Head.
Since joining the Company I have had the opportunity to meet a considerable number of people globally in the energy sector and I have always been proud to declare "I work for Doosan Babcock".
