Doosan Power Systems,in collaboration with SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy) and Vattenfall, has been awarded Ł6.3 million by DECC, the Technology Strategy Board and Northern Way towards its 5MW carbon capture trial at Ferrybridge Power Station in West Yorkshire.

Mick Gee, SSE’s Ferrybridge Station Manager, added: “We will be working closely with educational establishments throughout the UK, including the University of Leeds, to build up a strong knowledge and understanding of this new technology. Having one of the world’s largest trials of this nature is a really exciting development for the station.”
